ePower

What is ePower?
ePower is Sega's term for our monitoring, tracking, and forecasting solutions for power generation.  It gives personnel at all levels the ability to see real-time power plant performance data, revenue generation data, and cost data.  From easy to read graphics, data is made available and calculations are performed for multiple plants and in multiple locations, simultaneously.  ePower provides real-time economic information to evaluate generation options to maximize your rate-of-return on investment.

Better Decisions
In volatile energy selling and fuel purchasing markets, you need the ability to react quickly and adjust your generation facilities' inputs and outputs according to the prevailing economic environment.  We provide you with the information tool that shows you exactly how your plants are performing now, at this instant, from anywhere in the world.

Perhaps even more valuable, with price and fuel projections, operations and maintenance costs, and current equipment performance data, performance forecasting will give you the information sorely needed to make the right short-term generation decisions.

Platform
The ePower system is an off-the-shelf, low cost hardware and software solution that captures real-time data directly from any existing power plant control system.  By coupling your plant data with economic factors, you'll have on-demand financial performance.  All this can be contained in one standard PC per plant or centralized in servers if preferred.  This information system can then securely communicate with remote PC's via WAN's or the Internet.  This allows you to consolidate and standardize real-time plant information from multiple generation sites.

Getting Started
To start, we'll assess your plant's data acquisition and control systems and setup the requested performance monitoring calculations, displays, and reports.  Next, we'll establish a data link to the plant's existing equipment.  Finally, to access the system you'll simply need intranet or internet access.

Maintenance Requirements
Because we use all off-the-shelf hardware and software, maintenance, revisions, upgrades, and enhancements can be all self supported.  This is not a proprietary system.  What we provide with this solution is the technical know-how and experience to develop and implement, right the first time, power plant information systems that give the right people essential information on demand.

Control System Enhancement
Using ePower, you can easily retrieve historical plant performance data.  Also, individual equipment and plant systems performance can be monitored real-time, giving operators the ability to adjust operations from true performance indicators that traditional control systems fail to provide.  The PC located at the plant can be used for any additional data gathering, graphics displays, or even operating system supervision.  Access level and security is unlimited and entirely discretionary.

Business Integration
Because we use standard software tools for the data exchange between application software such as spreadsheets, word processors, and databases, the possibilities for integration into other business systems are virtually unlimited.

Training
We offer all the training you'll need to make the most of your system.  We always focus on your success.
