Representative Projects:
Combustion Turbine Peaking
- Orange Grove Energy and San Diego Gas & Electric, Orange Grove Power Plant, Pala, California
This EPC project included the site development and the installation of two 45-MW simple-cycle combustion turbine generators (General Electric LM6000 PC Sprint) to a “Greenfield” site. The project included site preparation, a two-mile gas pipeline, trucked-in water supply, 69-kV underground transmission line to utility substation, foundations, maintenance building with central control room, 69-kV substation with protection and control, gas compressors, SCR, noise restrictions, and plant controls integration.
- City of Chanute, Kansas, Gas Turbine Addition, Chanute, Kansas
Installation of a single 50-MW Siemens Westinghouse combustion turbine generator (W251B12) at an existing power plant site. The CTG was pre-purchased by the City of Chanute.
- Kansas City, Kansas Board of Public Utilities, Nearman Creek Power Plant, Kansas City, Kansas
Sega Inc. assisted BPU with the design procurement and construction of this new 80-MW combustion turbine generator (GE-7EA). The unit is a simple-cycle, dual-fueled, black start unit located on the existing Nearman Creek site.
Combined-Cycle
- Trigen – St. Louis Energy Corporation, Ashley Station, St. Louis, Missouri
The project consisted of upgrading the historic power station in two phases. The first phase included two parallel trains of 5.2-MW combustion turbine generators, heat recovery steam generators, and back-pressure steam turbine generators, totaling 15-MW of electric capacity and 200,000 lb/hr of steam production for district heating. A second phase consisted of an 18-MW condensing steam turbine generator. The work also included a 138-kV substation and intertie with the local utility.
- Associated Electric Cooperative, Inc., Chouteau Power Plant, Pryor, Oklahoma
Sega Inc. is the owner’s engineer for the relocation and construction of a 500-MW Nominal 2-on-1 Siemens combined-cycle plant. Developed and negotiated the engineer, procure and construct (EPC) power block construction contract and Sega Inc. is providing detailed design for the site preparation, water treatment, chiller retrofit and other construction packages. Sega Inc. is providing construction and start-up support.
